Restando in questa forma fino alla morte o allo scomparire, la sconfitta di Skeletron in stato infuriato viene comunque conteggiata come vittoria e fa cadere le ricompense normalmente.\\n\\nLa sconfitta di Skeletron è necessaria per sbloccare l’ingresso sicuro al Dungeon e per proseguire con alcuni eventi futuri (ad esempio le invocazioni legate alla progressione in gioco), oltre a far comparire o completare voci del Bestiario correlate al Dungeon Guardian. Uccidere l’[[tr.term.npc_oldman|Old Man]] non equivale a sconfiggere Skeletron: l’Old Man può essere ucciso ma rinasce all’alba se Skeletron non viene abbattuto; la sua morte non conta come sconfitta del boss e l’Old Man respawnerà. Se al momento dell’incontro non sono presenti determinate fornaci nel mondo, Skeletron può avere la possibilità di farne cadere una alla sua morte (la condizione viene verificata all’ingresso nel mondo o occasionalmente in gioco).\\n\\nStrategia e note pratiche:\\n- Distruggere le mani prima della testa è consigliato: eliminando entrambe le mani la lotta diventa molto più semplice. In modalità Expert è praticamente obbligatorio, poiché Skeletron guadagna +25 difesa per ogni mano ancora viva.\\n- Evitare di restare troppo tempo sopra o lateralmente a Skeletron: la testa si riporta rapidamente sopra il giocatore e può risultare difficile schivare testa e mani quando rientrano in posizione.\\n- Strumenti di mobilità come il Mount Slime o l’uncino (grappling hook) aiutano ad evadere l’attacco di rotazione della testa.
