Overview
The Mech Fabricator is a block that constructs the Merui mech unit when supplied with power and the required materials. It functions like other unit-producing fabricators and refabricators: once it has the necessary resources and power, it begins production and outputs a completed Merui as a payload. The produced unit is released according to the standard rules for payload-holding blocks.
The Mech Fabricator can store up to twice the materials required to build a single Merui, allowing it to queue production or tolerate intermittent resupply. Specifically, it can hold up to 100 Beryllium and 140 Silicon, which corresponds to double the single-unit cost. Production consumes the stored materials and power over the fabricator’s build time and then ejects the finished mech.
Practical details and usage notes:
- The fabricator requires continuous power during construction; insufficient power pauses progress until supply is restored. Its operating power draw after Build 149 is 90 power units/second.
- Build cost and stats changed in post-release updates: the block was added in Build 136. In Build 149 its build recipe and performance were adjusted — Graphite was removed from the cost and Beryllium and Tungsten values were changed, build time was reduced to 7.91 seconds, and health was increased to 860. Plan placement and defenses accordingly because it is a high-value production asset.
- Because it outputs units as payloads, position the Mech Fabricator where released mechs can immediately move out (clear paths, nearby unit routing) or be intercepted by conveyors/routers that handle payload release rules.
- Stocking the fabricator to its double-capacity buffer smooths production during supply interruptions; establish steady supply lines of Beryllium and Silicon for continuous mech manufacture.
- Protect the fabricator with defenses and redundant power. Its elevated health after recent changes makes it more durable, but it remains a strategic target due to the value of produced mechs.
