Early Game Guide

An optimal early-game guide for Dyson Sphere Program covering landing, initial base setup, and producing blue matrices.

Immediately after landing: what to do

After landing on a planet, your top priority is to confirm the locations of iron ore and copper ore. Open the planet map with the Tab key and build your starting base where both resources are close together — this makes logistics vastly easier.

First mining → smelting line

  1. Place 1 miner on an iron deposit.
  2. Line up 3 Arc Smelters adjacent to it.
  3. Use a Sorter Mk.I to feed ore in and temporarily accumulate output in a Storage Box.

At this point you will start to have a stable supply of iron ingots. Repeat the same setup for a copper deposit.

Magnetic Coil → Electromagnetic Matrix

The Electromagnetic Matrix is a core early research item. The production chain is:

Iron ore → Iron ingot → Magnet → Magnetic coil ┐
                                               ├→ Electromagnetic Matrix
Copper ore → Copper ingot → Circuit board ┘

Magnetic coils are often bottlenecked by assembler speed. It’s safe to parallelize 4 or more Assembler Mk.I units.

Summary

  • In the early game secure “iron, copper, and coal.”
  • Stack Matrix Labs vertically to save space.
  • Prioritize researching Assembler Mk.II.

Once Mk.II is unlocked your production throughput will increase dramatically.
