A logistic robot carries items between logistic chests according to the network’s rules and chest settings. The robot’s default cargo capacity is 1 item per trip; this capacity increases when the 
The logistic network’s chests and their interactions with robots:
Active provider chest: pushes its stored items into the logistic network so robots may take them. Logistic robots do not store items into active provider chests.
Passive provider chest: its stored items are made available to the network for retrieval. Logistic robots do not store items into passive provider chests.
Storage chest: holds surplus items that are not currently requested; it can be filtered to store only one item type and makes its contents available to the network.
Requester chest: requests specific items and receives deliveries from logistic robots. Robots will place items into requester chests but will not remove items from them.
Buffer chest: functions as both a requester and a passive provider. Buffer chests always have the next priority after requester chests for deliveries.
- Other logistic-enabled entities can be configured to interact with logistic requests (for example, space platform related entities in the Space Age content send/receive logistic requests to and from special surfaces).

Practical notes:
- Place Roboports so their coverage areas overlap to create a single, large logistic network and to provide enough charging capacity for robots.
- Research Worker robot cargo size early if you rely on long transport routes or high-throughput deliveries; each increment increases the number of items a robot can carry per trip.
- Use Active and Passive provider chests to feed the network, Storage chests to hold excess, and Requester chests to pull specific supplies into production trains or assemblers.
- Buffer chests are useful as local staging points: they request items and immediately allow others to pull from their stored items.
- Connect logistic chests or Roboports to the Circuit network with Red wire or Green wire when you need conditional supply, thresholds, or integration with logistic request signals.
