Overview

Peaks is a sector - a named map node - encountered in the campaign. As a sector, Peaks serves as a distinct combat and resource area on the campaign map where players must capture and hold core structures against enemy forces. It connects to neighboring sectors and contributes to the campaign's progression by unlocking subsequent nodes when captured.

The sector features terrain and encounter layout that influence base placement and defense planning. Players should prioritize securing supply routes and chokepoints; narrow passes and elevation can funnel enemy waves, making defensive lines with turrets and walling effective. Early scouting of the sector reveals resource deposits that determine what factories and turrets can be built without relying on long transport lines.

Enemy composition in Peaks follows the campaign's faction assignments for that region. Defenses must be flexible: mix rapid-fire and splash turrets to handle both swarms and heavier units. Mobile units are useful for intercepting flanking attacks and clearing enemy spawn points before they consolidate. Establishing a repair and power backbone (generators, batteries, and repair structures) behind the front line preserves forward defenses during prolonged sieges.

  • Secure and fortify chokepoints first; place long-range turrets and supply conveyors behind walls.
  • Balance economy and defense: capture resource nodes early to sustain turret production and munitions.
  • Use mobile forces to patrol and clear side paths, preventing enemy encirclement.
  • Maintain power redundancy (multiple generators and accumulators) to avoid blackout during heavy assaults.
