Satellite Substation

Overview
The Satellite Substation is a late-game power transmission building with the largest distribution area of any grid component and a very long connection range. It is designed to extend electrical networks across large factory complexes, especially where there is enough open space to place a 3×3 building footprint. When built, it rises high above the ground, leaving its base behind on the terrain.
Unlike the

Icarus. It is used purely for power distribution, so it is best treated as a grid extender rather than a personal charging station. Its idle power draw is high at 720 kW, which is about four times that of a Wireless Power Tower, so it is inefficient for long chains unless the power network has ample surplus energy.
Practical use notes:
- Best suited to large, open factory layouts where the 3×3 footprint is not a problem.
- Its much larger coverage can reduce the number of power distributors needed, which can improve performance by lowering the total number of building updates per second.
- It is usually a poor choice for dense builds or early expansion, since Tesla Towers fit into tight spaces more easily and do not consume passive power.
- Because of its long range and high idle consumption, it works best when used sparingly to bridge major gaps or centralize distribution across broad industrial areas.
