Host side:

  1. Start an expedition or custom map and press ESC
  2. Host → Invite friends → Invite from Steam friends list
  3. Settings → Game → Uncheck "Allow anyone to join the game"

Joining side:

  • When you receive an invitation, press join in the friend's chat window

Players on the same team share resources, so if multiple people are using a resource with limited supply, it will be depleted quickly. Resource shortages are especially noticeable early on, and copper is often in short supply. Having one player mine directly can help.

Multiplayer on Expedition Maps

On expedition maps, each player's technology tree unlocks are reflected individually. For example:

  • If the host has not completed research on the Graphite Press, the host cannot build it
  • If participant A has completed the Graphite Press research, participant A can build it
  • If participant B has not completed the research, participant B cannot build it

When leaving a map, all players can carry back the resources that were present when they left. For example, if there were 300 Graphite at the time, all participants and the host can carry back 300 Graphite each.

The same applies to launch pads. Even if someone joined right before departure, they can carry back all the resources.
