The shard’s passive illumination makes it useful in dark environments, and when carried or worn it grants mechanical effects that change how the player interacts with electrical hazards and equipment.

While equipped, the Glow Shard reduces incoming electrical damage by 50% and prevents Tesla Coils from targeting the player. It also exposes six cable connection slots, allowing the player to link up to six power-consuming structures or batteries to the shard’s circuitry. These properties make the Glow Shard a hybrid defensive/support item: it mitigates electrical threats while serving as a compact node for powering or buffering nearby systems.
