Lifeline

The Lifeline is a trinket found in pirate village chests or bought from the Broken Pirate. It is meant to be carried as an emergency swap item, giving you something useful to equip when you are close to death.

Because it is a trinket, Lifeline competes with other trinket choices rather than occupying a weapon or armor slot, so its main value comes from preparation and quick reaction. Keeping one in your inventory lets you switch to it when your current loadout is no longer worth preserving, especially in dangerous fights or situations where you expect to take lethal damage soon.
