Worm Carapace

Worm Carapace is a crafting material mainly used to make Ancient Fossil Armor and a few weapons. It is dropped by Sandworms in the Deep Desert Cave.

Because it comes from a hostile cave enemy rather than a basic resource node, Worm Carapace is usually something you gather while exploring the Deep Desert Cave instead of farming passively. Sandworms are the exclusive source mentioned, so if you need this material in quantity, repeated runs through that biome are the intended way to obtain it.

Its main value is as an ingredient in the Ancient Fossil Armor set, making it a progression material tied to desert cave exploration. It also appears in the crafting of a small number of weapons, so players who are building toward desert-themed gear or experimenting with those weapon recipes will want to keep any extra Worm Carapace they collect.
