Farming Guide: Best Routes & Export Farming Tips
Farming in StarRupture covers the production and acquisition of recurring resources, consumables and repeatable rewards that sustain base growth and unlock corporate rewards. Efficient farming balances extraction buildings, repeatable harvest sources, and use of the Corporate Terminal / Orbital Cargo Launcher to convert surplus into reputation and materials.
Core goals and why farming matters
- Keep a steady supply of ores, specialty materials and craft inputs so production lines never stall.
- Generate export value and corporate reputation by sending products through the Corporate Terminal / Orbital Cargo Launcher to unlock station rewards and high‑tier items.
- Maintain throughput by matching extractor outputs to downstream processing and storage.
Primary repeatable sources
Resource nodes and extractors
Ore Excavator yields node resources automatically. Node yield tiers are Impure / Normal / Pure and each tier multiplies output:
- For common metal ores (
Titanium Ore,
Wolfram Ore and similar), outputs are 60/min (Impure), 120/min (Normal), 240/min (Pure).
- Specialized extractors produce fixed outputs:
Helium-3 Extractor: 240/min
Helium-3.
Sulfur Extractor: 240/min Sulfur Ore.
- For common metal ores (
- Some resources (
Quartz Ore,
Glowcap, and other cave flora/minerals) are found in caves only and must be mined by hand; Quartz is also awarded by Corporate Terminal progression.
Meteors and hand sources
- Mini Meteors and Meteors provide sporadic amounts of some ores when harvested by hand or via specific tools; quantities vary with the event and are not constant per-minute sources.
Stations that generate data or items
Analyzing Station produces Data Points in batches (5–250 per use), which are valuable as trade/export items and for unlocking rewards.
Production and conversion buildings
- Use extractors to convert node tiles into continuous flows of raw materials that feed into production chains (smelting, compounders, presses).
- Higher‑tier production buildings (Compounder,
Mega Press,
Refinery, Oil Extractor, etc.) are frequently obtained as Corporate Terminal rewards; plan production so you can craft and export products that the corporations value.
Corporate Terminal / Orbital Cargo Launcher — farming for rewards
- Sending products via the Orbital Cargo Launcher increases Value and reputation with the selected corporation; repeated exports unlock corporation reward tiers.
- Each corporation’s reward table lists required reputation levels and items available at each tier. Rewards include critical mid‑ and late‑game buildings (e.g.,
Helium-3 Extractor, Compounder, Dietician LEM, Infiltrator LEM,
Mega Press, Inventory Upgrades, and quartz ore rewards at high tiers).
- Exporting commonly produced items with steady throughput (tube, glass, ceramics, various ores and processed ingots) is an efficient way to farm reputation. Example export values shown in corporation tables indicate which products each corporation accepts and the typical value gained.
Practical farming strategies
1) Match extractor tiers to need
- Claim and develop higher‑quality node tiles (Normal → Pure) on important ores to increase per‑extractor yield rather than building many extractors on low‑quality tiles.
2) Specialize early, diversify later
- Early game: prioritize a stable set of nodes for universal needs (Titanium, Wolfram, basic ceramics/glass inputs).
- Mid/late game: add specialty extractors (
Helium-3, Sulfur) and farm processed goods to unlock high‑tier corporation rewards (e.g., Dietician LEM, Compounder).
3) Pipeline for exports
- Produce exportable processed items that match corporation demand (glass, tube, hardening agent, synthetic silicon, ceramics, etc.). Review corporation reward tables and prioritize crafting items that yield high value for the corporation you intend to level.
- Use Analyzing Station to generate Data Points when you need trade goods that vary in quantity per use.
4) Use rewards to accelerate farming
- Spend earned reputation to unlock buildings that improve farming throughput: Inventory Upgrades, extractors,
Helium-3 Extractor, Compounder,
Mega Press,
Refinery and automated LEMs (Irrigator/Dietician/Infiltrator) that increase production/processing efficiency.
5) Handle cave harvestables manually
Quartz Ore and Glowcap are scarce cave finds and require manual mining; plan expeditions to collect them or aim to unlock Quartz rewards via the Corporate Terminal where available.
Priorities and recommended build order for farming
- Secure at least one reliable ore node of each base resource (Titanium, Wolfram) at Normal or better; build Ore Excavators as needed.
- Add a Helium-3 Extractor or Sulfur Extractor when industrial recipes require them.
- Start producing and exporting common processed items (glass, tubes, ceramics) to build corporate reputation and unlock mid‑game production buildings.
- Use unlocked Compounder /
Mega Press /
Refinery to convert bulk raw output into higher‑value exports and to feed your own production lines.
Final notes
- Farming is a balance of locating good nodes, choosing the right extractors, converting raw materials into higher‑value products, and exporting strategically to acquire buildings and upgrades that further accelerate production. Plan exports around the corporation reward tables to maximize the acceleration each shipment gives your base.
