Operational notes and considerations:
- The device emits a repeating beep or ticking sound that enemies respond to; placement where that sound can be heard by intended targets improves effectiveness.
- Detonation follows the beeping phase; timing the placement relative to enemy movement increases the chance that foes will be within the blast when it detonates.
Boom Bait can be used defensively to draw hostiles away from vulnerable allies or objectives, and offensively to concentrate enemy units into a single damaging blast.
- Because the device relies on enemy attraction, positioning in chokepoints or along expected patrol routes typically yields the most reliable results.
- The explosion affects any entity within its effective radius at detonation; avoid placing the device too close to friendly units unless they are intended to take damage.
