Overview

IS-0059 Sigil is an in-game item found at the bottom of the ink well in The Night Realm. The well is extremely deep and requires the player to have a Diving Suit to reach the chamber where the sigil appears as a glowing orb; its appearance closely resembles Night Essence. The sigil can also be encountered mounted on a wall in some scenes, but the canonical location for acquisition is the bottom of the Night Realm ink well.

The material of the sigil is notable: it sits in hewn stone and is surrounded by aged, corroded metal that gives an uncanny impression. Observations in multiple localizations describe the stone as roughly worked and the metal as old or rusted, and several languages note that the mark itself does not clearly look like a simple carving or etching, implying an ambiguous origin or fabrication method.

Interaction with the sigil produces distinct audio feedback. When the player stands close to the sigil, it emits the same sound cue associated with IS-0059 and with portals that lead to the Night Realm. This sonic signature can be used to confirm proximity or to locate the sigil in visually obscured environments.

Practical notes and behavior:

  • Location: At the bottom of the ink well in The Night Realm; can appear mounted on walls in some scenes or gallery images, but underwater well is the primary source.
  • Requirement: A Diving Suit is required to reach the bottom of the ink well because of the well's extreme depth.
  • Appearance: Glowing orb similar in appearance to Night Essence; embedded in rough-hewn stone and old metal that may not be a traditional carving.
  • Audio cue: Emits the same sound as IS-0059 and Night Realm portals when approached; use sound to confirm discovery if visibility is limited.
  • Retrieval/interaction: Approach with diving gear; be prepared to recognize the sigil by both visual glow and its portal-like sound.

The sigil’s ambiguous material and familiar audio link to Night Realm portals suggest it is closely tied to that environment’s phenomena and may serve as a marker or component related to Night Realm mechanics.
