Overview

Armory Locker is a large, sturdy storage unit encountered in the game world. Visually and functionally it appears as a heavy locker intended for secure storage, and all localizations describe it as a big, durable locker. Beyond its role as a piece of scenery or storage, the Armory Locker can be activated to become a defensive device when supplied with a directed laser beam.

When powered by a beam striking a crystal set into its base, the Armory Locker will shoot a laser beam at enemies that enter its effective range. The beam is produced by the locker itself once the base crystal is receiving a laser; the locker does not generate the beam independently. A laser must be provided to the base crystal by aiming a beam from either a Laser Emitter or a Laser Prism at that crystal. Once the crystal is illuminated, the Armory Locker will autonomously target and fire at hostiles that approach.

Practical interaction and tactics:

  • Activation: Aim a beam from a Laser Emitter or from a Laser Prism at the crystal in the locker’s base to enable the defensive firing behavior. The crystal is the single required conduit for the laser input.
  • Single-beam requirement: Only one laser beam is necessary for full functionality. Feeding additional beams into the base crystal does not increase rate of fire, damage, range, or otherwise stack effects; extra beams provide no benefit.
  • Deployment: Place the locker so its firing arc covers expected approach paths or choke points. Because it only fires when enemies enter its range, positioning determines practical utility.
  • Maintenance: The locker’s defensive function depends entirely on an externally supplied beam; if the beam is interrupted (blocked, redirected, or the source disabled) the locker will cease firing.
  • Compatibility: The locker accepts beams from either Laser Emitters or Laser Prisms aimed at the base crystal. Ensure alignment and unobstructed beam path between source and crystal.

Armory Locker combines simple mechanical requirements with predictable defensive behavior: provide one focused laser beam to the base crystal and the locker will act as an automated turret, shooting at enemies within its operating range.
