Water Cooler

Water Cooler is a portable fillable container that can be found as world loot in several reactor areas, including the Mist, Dusk, and Gale Reactors. It is primarily notable for being a water storage item whose weight changes depending on how much water it contains, making it easier to carry when empty and increasingly cumbersome as it is filled.

Its weight scales nonlinearly with contents: an empty Water Cooler weighs 5, then rises to 22.5 at 25% full, 30 at 50%, 35 at 75%, and 40 when completely full. The first addition of water is especially noticeable, because its weight jumps from 5 while empty to 20 once water has been added, so a partially filled cooler is already much heavier than the empty item suggests.

Because it is a fillable item, it can be used to move water around without needing to build a dedicated structure first. That makes it useful for transporting supplies between bases, work areas, or other locations where water is needed, especially when you want a ready-made container rather than a crafted solution. Its portability also means it can be picked up and relocated as needed, though the increased weight at higher fill levels makes full transport more expensive in inventory space.

Practical notes:

• A Water Cooler found in the wild can be taken and filled later, rather than being tied to a fixed installation.
• Its weight increases sharply as soon as it contains water, so plan inventory space before carrying a full one.
• Empty coolers are far easier to move than partially filled ones.
• Multiple Water Coolers can be found across the reactor zones, so they are not a one-off pickup.

If you are collecting them for base logistics, the best use is usually to move them empty, fill them only when needed, and avoid carrying a near-full one unless the trip is short.
