Co-op Guide: How to Play Together

Astroneer supports co-op play through platform party/invite systems, letting friends join the same save and travel together on a planet. The exact invite flow depends on platform, but once connected, players can confirm the join by the small house icon shown on the planet.

Crossplay on Xbox and Windows 10

On Xbox and Windows 10, invite another player through the Xbox Party function in the Xbox app on Windows or through Xbox itself. After the invitation is accepted, the player is redirected into your game.

For this setup, the most reliable method is for the Xbox player to host and invite the PC player. If the connection does not work, have both players restart their systems and try again.

Knowing when a player is connected

A joined player is shown by a small house icon on the planet. This indicates that the co-op connection has been established and the player is in the session.
