Ash Block is a wall tile made by compacting ash into a solid building material. It is unlocked after researching Sandrock Block and costs 2 Ash to construct. Like other wall tiles, it slightly increases movement speed when walked on, in this case by 15%.

Its main distinction is its heat-related behavior: the block is hot, and walking across it is useful if you want to inflict burns. With 50 durability, it is not especially sturdy compared with later wall materials, so it is better suited to specialized layouts than to heavy defensive use. It also requires 3 research points and 7.8 time to unlock.

Ash Block sits in the mid-tier wall progression after Sandrock Block. Because it is built from ash rather than common structural materials, it is most relevant in areas where heat or burn damage is part of the intended design. In practical use, it can be combined with other terrain tiles to create hazardous paths, trap corridors, or themed constructions where its appearance and damage effect matter more than raw durability.
