Deep Mechanical Fluid Pump is a Timberborn building that moves fluids across a gap rather than producing drinkable water. It takes fluid from one side and outputs it directly to the opposite side, creating a unidirectional transfer. When the pump discharges into a 1-tile-wide canal, it produces a flow rate of 0.5 cubic meters per second (cms). The pump does not convert or treat the fluid; it only transfers it.

The pump has a limited pumping depth: it can span a vertical difference of up to 6 tiles between intake and outflow. The allowed pipe connection length has been changed in updates, with the maximum pipe length increased to 8 blocks from the earlier 6-block limit. The pump no longer stops the flow of fluids under normal operation, and it discharges fluid one block lower than older versions did. Shafts can only be connected from the two shortest sides of the building. The item was renamed from Deep Mechanical Water Pump to Deep Mechanical Fluid Pump in a past update to reflect its broader use with fluids.

Construction and placement impose several constraints. The blocks beneath the pipes must be at a lower elevation than the block where the pump itself is built. Fluid can only be transferred into the pump from the neighboring side block; plugging a pipe into a different side will not feed the pump. Attempting to attach mechanical power via the pump’s side or pipe connections will not power the pump. It is not confirmed whether mechanical power supplied from beneath the pump (for example, by placing the pump atop a powered rowhouse) will operate the pump.
