Overview

The Lodge is the first of two housing options available to Folktails at the beginning of the game. It occupies a 2x2 tile footprint, houses 3 Folktails, and costs 12 to build. The building provides basic shelter and is intended as an early-game residence for small Folktail settlements.

A mirrored version of the Lodge exists with identical size, cost, and housing capacity; the mirrored Lodge’s entrance is located on the left side compared to the standard Lodge. The Lodge family of buildings expands into several other related housing types that trade footprint, capacity, and construction/unlock cost for different utility and placement options.

  • Mini Lodge: A very small, low-cost option. It is cheap to unlock and build, occupies a 1x2 tile footprint, and houses 1 Folktail.
  • Double Lodge: The first two-story Lodge. It unlocks later, costs more to build, and provides double the housing of a standard Lodge with a total capacity of 6 Folktails. Entrance access is on the second floor/story level, so pathing must connect to that level.
  • Triple Lodge: The largest Folktail housing option. It occupies a 3x2 tile footprint, is two stories tall, and houses 9 Folktails. Like the Double Lodge, its entrance is on the second floor/story level and requires appropriate path planning.

Practical notes for placement and planning: the standard Lodge and its mirrored variant are useful for initial colony layout because of their small footprint and low build cost. When upgrading to Double or Triple Lodges, plan vertical access and paths so Folktails can reach second-story entrances without overcomplicating walkways. Consider using Mini Lodges for tight spaces or to provide single units of housing where larger buildings would be inefficient. The Lodge and its variants are categorized under Folktails housing and were introduced in the Update 1 release.
