Overview

The Suspension Bridge 2x1 is a small span bridge used to carry beaver traffic across gaps and obstacles in Timberborn. It occupies three bridge blocks in total: one anchor block attached to solid ground and two suspension span blocks that form the traversable portion. The design lets beavers cross voids, uneven terrain, or waterways where a simple ramp would not reach.

Suspension Bridge 2x1 functions as a modular bridge segment. A single unit covers a gap of two tiles between anchor points; placing two units in series increases the reachable gap to four tiles by chaining their spans and anchors. The anchor block must be placed on buildable terrain; the suspension span extends from the anchor into the gap and must connect to either another anchor block or solid ground to form a complete crossing.

  • Construction requires placing an anchor on firm ground and then building the suspension span sections out over the gap.
  • The bridge is intended for pedestrian beaver traffic only and integrates with existing pathing so beavers will use it as a regular path when connected.
  • Multiple 2x1 bridges can be linked end-to-end to cross wider gaps, but each bridge still relies on anchor points; plan terrain and anchor placement accordingly.
  • Because the span segments are suspended, they allow crossing without filling or terraforming the gap below, preserving waterways or open space.
