Crafting Bench

The Crafting Bench is the primary crafting apparatus available to the player. It functions as the main station for creating items and is the foundational workbench used to access and follow more advanced recipes. As the initial or primary installation for item creation, the Crafting Bench is central to progression: placing and using one expands the set of craftable recipes beyond the most basic recipes available without a bench, and it establishes a safer, more developed home space.

The bench unlocks recipes that are not otherwise available through improvised or handheld crafting, enabling the production of improved equipment, tools, consumables, and other crafted objects required for mid-tier progression. By enabling these advanced recipes, the Crafting Bench directly contributes to the player's survivability and the defensive quality of their living area; the presence of a proper crafting station allows the construction of items and upgrades that make a base or home safer and more reliable.

• Placement and ownership: the Crafting Bench is intended to be placed in a home or base and acts as the focal point for more sophisticated crafting operations. Installing it inside a sheltered area best realizes its described effect on home safety.
