Some Distant Shore

Some Distant Shore is a secret portal world. It is one of the more unusual anteverses, since it functions more like a self-contained fishing and logistics outpost than a conventional exploration zone.

The area’s only resource is Liquid Feces, which can be collected in containers or fished from the shoreline. Fishing here most often produces Bio Scrap or Bags of Feces, but this is also the only place where Entropic Portal Fish can be obtained. Touching the feces shoreline teleports players back to the facility, and leaving the world is as simple as walking into the “ocean,” which sends the player to the Data Farm bathroom in the Office Sector.

Some Distant Shore cannot be completed in the normal sense, so the Jetpack can never be used there. This can be worked around with a large number of bridges and ramps. It is also the only anteverse and location that lacks hostile creatures or other dangers, making it comparatively safe to operate in.

Because the location does not contain a GATE equipment box, it is not suitable for powering a full base unless the player brings their own infrastructure. A charged battery and Crafting Bench can be brought over to sync a Personal Teleporter, which helps with long-term access. For a more sustainable base, a Plague Wheel powered by a Plague from a Plague Teleporter can be set up, provided the Plague is first tamed with a Plague Trap and food. An Exercise Bike or Bench Press can also provide a renewable power source for a base here.

• Best use: fishing for Liquid Feces, Bio Scrap, Bags of Feces, and Entropic Portal Fish.
• Safe to traverse: there are no hostile enemies in the area.
• Exit condition: entering the ocean returns the player to the Data Farm bathroom in the Office Sector.
• Base building is limited by the lack of a GATE equipment box.
• The location cannot be fully completed, so Jetpack traversal is unavailable.
