Hydroplant

The Hydroplant Sector is a sprawling industrial complex built around the Cascade Reservoir and Dam, positioned between the Office Sector and the Security Sector. It is accessible by road or tram and is arranged across several buildings, multiple levels, and the reservoir itself. In GATE’s records, the facility began operation in 1969 to support the original Cascade Lithium Mine and was later heavily refurbished after GATE acquired it in 1977. The dam now provides up to 400 MW and powers both the wider facility and specialized subsystems beneath the cavern.

The sector’s layout centers on the dam roadway and the reservoir infrastructure around it. Four pumping stations sit on or near the main road, and four intake towers extend into the reservoir. Large security doors block portions of the road and can be raised with Level 5 Clearance. Past the Tram Station, the first major building contains a reinforced Power Station with Generators, plus a Submarine Pen on a lower level aligned with the reservoir surface. A Control Center annex in that building shelters two survivors. Farther into the reservoir stands the Neutrino Detector, a tower-like structure with no obvious land access, reachable only by Jetpack or by diving through one of two underwater tunnels with a Diving Suit.

The sector is also notable for its heavy combat presence. The Order maintains a strong foothold here, with sniper positions covering key vantage points, and the area shows clear signs of intense fighting. The Robotics Center, a semi-large factory where Defense Robots are manufactured, is now completely submerged and requires a Diving Suit to enter safely. Only one part of the facility remains fully safe inside, where a survivor is found. The dam’s waterways also contain fast travel points: there are four numbered water towers in the reservoir and one unnumbered sniper nest near the tram station. Unlocking the nearby yellow valve opens a permanent water stream in the pipes, allowing travel between connected towers.

Hydroplant is also a useful source area for materials. Hydro Pipes can be dismantled throughout the Hydroplant, in Voussoir, in Reactor areas, and in the Botanical Wing of Fragments.

• The Neutrino Detector sits in the far eastern portion of the dam and is surrounded by water.
• The underwater tunnels leading to it are hidden in a crevice covered with glowing Reservoir Growth.
• The water streams in towers 2 and 3 connect to each other.
• The water stream in tower 4 returns to the Labs Sector.
• The unnumbered tower’s stream must be unlocked with a Keypad Hacker (Tier 5) and connects to the main Hydroplant building to the west.
