Fragments

Fragments is a location reached after the Botanical Wing and serves as part of the game’s late-story progression. The area becomes relevant once the player has obtained the Motion Module, since that item is required to continue through Fragments. Jimmy Sanders can later be found here at the taco shop just outside the Botanical Wing after the main story has been completed.

The most concrete connection to Fragments is its role as the next step after the Botanical Wing’s time-shifting traversal segment. By the end of the Botanical Wing, the player meets the Sister of the Unlost and gains access to the teleporter into the GATE Arch Defense Facility, where the recipes for the Excursion Suit and Motion Module are obtained. From there, the Motion Module opens the way forward through Fragments, making the location part of the route that follows the facility’s present/future split.

Fragments also functions as a small hub for character placement. Jimmy Sanders relocates there after the main story, while earlier story events place him elsewhere until the Sun Disk’s power has been transferred to him. This makes Fragments one of the few named locations tied directly to an NPC’s post-story destination.
