Overview

Temple of Stone is a Portal World location in Abiotic Factor set on a small, largely uninhabited Aegean island. The GATE Compendium describes it as an early glimpse into Earth’s past, with celestial comparison data placing it around 2500 BCE. The site is centered on a temple to Athena at the island’s eastern end, and its atmosphere and architecture draw heavily from ancient Greek imagery.

It can be randomly obtained from breaking Presents in the Furniture Store or the North Pole. On multiplayer servers, only the host needs to own the DLC to unlock access for everyone else in the session.

Temple of Stone is unusual among Portal Worlds because it has a full day/night cycle and is mostly peaceful. The Leyak does not appear there, and the island has no standard enemies, which makes it a useful place to explore, build, or simply stay for long periods. Assault events can still occur, but they can be reduced with a crafting bench’s portal suppression field.

A few practical points make the location easier to use:

  • Pets can be teleported into Temple of Stone using the Pest Teleporter.
  • Traveling traders can appear there.
  • The lack of enemies makes it one of the safest Portal Worlds for loitering or setting up a temporary base.
  • The day/night cycle changes the look of the island significantly, so navigation and visibility can vary depending on the time of day.

The location also contains a small environmental puzzle and a secret area. Its scenery includes petrified birds, people, and other creatures, along with snake iconography, which reinforces the mythic tone of the region.
