Exor
The creature widely referred to as the Exor demonstrates many unexplained behaviours.
IS-0184-A has been observed in the wild by TR teams on several occasions gathering in small groups centered around a single IS-0184-B, in a posture described variously as 'supplication' or 'abeyance'.
Although no comparative recordings exist, researchers have noted that under these circumstances both IS-0184-A and IS-0184-B emanate a series of modulated frequencies that are not heard at any other time.
DESIGNATION: Crucis (AG/EN/IN)
CONTAINMENT PROTOCOLS: All containment facilities for IS-0184-A require Grade 4 impact shielding and/or Grade 5 blast dampening in accordance with GISP ratings. All personnel conducting research on this subject must wear Grade 4 body armor with full electrical grounding, even when subject is sedated or unconscious. Direct interaction in any state is not advised.
IS-0184-A should not be exposed to any flammable materials. Feed remotely.
A bipedal hunter with a sophisticated bio-electric defence adaptation, the Exor was first discovered in 1987 by Dr. Lenora Riggs.
Overview
Exor is a hostile bipedal alien hunter encountered in Abiotic Factor. It is an aggressive creature with a bio-electric defense adaptation, and it can appear alone or alongside other entities, making encounters especially dangerous when several Exors are present at once. Exors are hostile to the player, Order soldiers, and robots, and their behavior and anatomy make them a more direct threat than Exor Monks despite lacking teleportation.
Physically, Exors are larger than Exor Monks and carry more quills along their backs. They have pink bioluminescence behind the head as well as bright green bioluminescent streaks spread across more of the body, including large glowing bulb-like growths. They are also distinguished by a unique quill weapon and by the absence of the decorative paint and equipment seen on Exor Monks.
In combat, Exors use a Quill Arm to burst-fire 4 to 6 shots at a target, and they will also dodge and switch to melee attacks when needed. Their ranged attack can deal heavy damage if the player stands still and is struck by a full burst, and many of their attacks can inflict bleeding. Their melee attacks are also strong enough that they should be avoided or blocked rather than traded against directly. They are still vulnerable to ordinary ranged or melee damage, but electrical weapons are notably effective against them.
Exors drop several useful materials:
Exor Quills can drop in fixed and variable quantities, and Raw Alien Drumstick has a chance to drop as well. These drops make Exors a valuable target if the player can safely handle their offense. The GATE compendium also notes that Exors should not be exposed to flammable materials and that they should be fed remotely, reflecting the danger posed by direct handling and their unusual containment requirements.
Before they are first encountered in Cascade Laboratories, Exor bodies can be found in the Office Sector and Manufacturing West, indicating that traces of the creature appear earlier than the main live encounters.
