Volatile Exor
DESIGNATION: Crucis (AG/EN/IN)
CONTAINMENT PROTOCOLS: Full assessment of IS-0184-E immurement protocols: pending.
The origin of 0184-E's transformation is presumed to lie in fungal pathogens spread from Anteverse 2. These pathogens have themselves undergone significant mutation since prolifertating through Mist Reactor and beyond. Staff are advised that previous safety directives may be no longer be reliable.
Any personnel interacting with 0184-E should wear complete radiological and fungal protection at all times. However, any encounter with IS-0184-E under anything less than full physical restraint, total sedation and/or complete discontinuation of life signs is highly discouraged to prevent irrevocable harm to researchers.
Provisional storage protocols for this entity stipulate Grade 2 concrete-reinforced radiation shielding for all sites, and extremely small containment spaces to limit the entities achievable kinetic velocity.
Overview
Volatile Exor is a large, highly mutated Exor-class creature designated Crucis (AG/EN/IN) that appears in Anteverse 2 and related zones. It represents an advanced evolutionary form of the Volatile
Containment and handling procedures for Volatile Exor reflect the creature's biological and radiological hazards. The origin of its transformation is attributed to fungal pathogens; these pathogens have undergone significant mutation since proliferation through the Mist Reactor. All personnel interacting with a Volatile Exor must wear full radiological and fungal protective equipment at all times. Any engagement that does not occur under full physical restraint, complete sedation, or confirmed absence of vital signs is strongly discouraged due to the risk of irreversible harm. Provisional storage protocols require Grade 2 concrete-reinforced radiation shielding at all sites and extremely small containment spaces to limit the entity’s achievable kinetic velocity.
In combat, Volatile Exors fight exclusively in melee and combine speed, reach, and explosive desperation attacks. Their primary offensive behaviors include a Leaping Tackle—an aggressive pounce that closes distance rapidly—followed by multi-swipe Claw attacks that can apply Bleeding. They emit a Warcry that briefly impairs player vision, complicating ranged responses. At very low health a Volatile Exor attempts to Detonate, producing both explosive and acid damage to nearby targets; this self-detonation can be interrupted by killing the creature before the explosion triggers. Volatile Exors sprint and leap frequently when pursuing targets, covering impressive vertical and horizontal distances.
Practical notes for encountering and farming Volatile Exors:
- Expect pure melee engagement: prioritize mobility, knockback, or hard crowd-control to keep distance and avoid being overwhelmed in confined spaces.
- Visual impairment from Warcry and sudden, long-range leaps make dodging and maintaining line-of-sight difficult; use cover or high-damage burst to prevent sustained melee exchanges.
- The Detonate attack makes finishing blows hazardous—either finish from a safe distance with ranged weapons or ensure the kill is instant to prevent the explosive phase.
- Contained fights should respect containment guidance; field teams must wear both fungal and radiological protection when harvesting or handling remains.
- Volatile Exors drop reliable materials for crafting and research: Plutonic Blood (100%), Exor Quill (guaranteed 2; sometimes 2–4 at increased yield), Plutonic
Carapace (100%), and Volatile
Exor Skull (25%). Remains must be harvested using proper protective procedures.
