Overview
Breacher is an Order soldier from the Exulum rank, identified by a barred helmet and a role as a shock trooper. According to the GATE Compendium, Exulum are forced into frontline combat as penance for lapses in honor or spiritual failure, and their ferocity reflects their drive to redeem themselves in battle.
Breachers are typically found patrolling or stationed at fixed points. When they spot a target, they advance slowly and fire from a distance with a shotgun. Like other Order soldiers, they attack entities, robots, and the player. Their movement is predictable, since they keep walking toward the player rather than rushing, but they become dangerous if they are allowed to close to shotgun range.
In combat, melee is a poor choice because Breachers resist both forms of melee damage and are especially lethal up close. Ranged weapons are the safer answer, and electricity is particularly effective against them. A few bursts from the Electro-Thrower or one to two Electron Grenades can kill a Breacher. Shields can also block their shotgun blasts, and because there is a delay between shots, it is possible to block, create an opening, and counterattack. Their steady advance also makes them easy to lure into traps or to keep at a controlled distance.
Breachers drop a mix of guaranteed and rare loot, making them a useful source of military supplies and shotgun ammunition.

Because of their shotgun, Breachers are best handled with distance, cover, or electrical damage rather than direct melee pressure. Their slow, deliberate approach gives the player time to prepare, but only if they are dealt with before they get within firing range.
