Corpsewalker is a large black humanoid figure that appears as an ambient, non-interactive creature in the game world. It manifests in a blank reference pose and is primarily notable for its sudden, unsettling appearances near the player rather than for any combat or direct interaction. The entity is encountered on the roof of the ASO building in Dunkeltaler Forest and subsequently begins to appear repeatedly within the player’s nearby area.
After the initial encounter on the ASO roof, Corpsewalker will spawn roughly every five minutes somewhere within the player’s proximity. When it appears it levitates in place for a period of a couple of minutes and always orients to face the player. Its behavior on sighting is distinctive: the figure disappears a few seconds after the player sees it, creating a brief, eerie encounter rather than a sustained presence. This spawn-and-vanish pattern and the levitating, player-facing stance are comparable to the behavior of the Leyak entity.
Corpsewalker has several contextual and lore-related associations. It is identified as one of the Forbiddens that appear in the Voices of the Void content; these Forbiddens are presented as non-canonical to the main story. The figure’s visual presentation is similar to the group called “The Eight Great Figures” in Voices of the Void. The entity is also known by an alternate name, Dark Figura.
Practical notes for players:
The Threat Sensor will highlight Corpsewalker if the player is wearing a full set of Cascade Armor, allowing detection through walls or obstacles when that armor set is equipped.
Encounters are short and visual: Corpsewalker levitates and faces the player for minutes before disappearing a few seconds after being observed, so sightings are transient and primarily atmospheric.
Appearances begin after discovering the creature on the ASO building roof in Dunkeltaler Forest and then recur at roughly five-minute intervals while the player remains in the area.
Corpsewalker is presented and used as an environmental/atmospheric element rather than a combatant, reinforcing the unsettling mood of the zones where it appears and tying into out-of-story Voidside content.
