Torii

Torii is a Portal World added with the Supporter’s Pack. It is presented as the GATE Torii Facility, a secluded research institute in southern Japan devoted to advanced power research and supernormal studies. Its role in the setting is strongly tied to energy science, geothermal work, and specialized study of supernormal historical events, with the location’s placement on the Ring of Fire reinforcing its volcanic and geothermal theme.

Unlike many other dangerous destinations, Torii is a largely peaceful place to explore and build in. It has no regular enemies, and the Leyak does not appear there, which makes it especially suitable for extended visits. Assault events can still occur, but they can be suppressed by placing a crafting bench and using its portal suppression field, allowing the area to function as a relatively safe base site or long-term hangout location.

Torii also has a few notable environmental traits that make it distinctive among Portal Worlds. As its name suggests, the area is filled with Japanese torii gates, and it is one of the few Portal Worlds with a full day/night cycle. When night falls at 21:00, stone lanterns light up across the area, changing the atmosphere noticeably and making the world feel more alive after dark.

A few practical details are worth keeping in mind when using Torii as a base or transit point:

• Pets can be teleported into Torii using the Pest Teleporter.
• Traveling traders can appear in the location.
• Assault events remain possible, so a crafting bench with portal suppression is useful if you want to reduce interruptions.
• On multiplayer servers, only the host needs to own the DLC for other players to access Torii.

Torii’s combination of safety, visual style, and utility makes it stand out as one of the more desirable Portal Worlds for building, lingering, or simply enjoying a quieter part of Abiotic Factor’s world.
