Plant Toolbox

Plant Toolbox is a durable, placeable item encountered throughout the game. It is described in-game as a hardy toolbox used by the best and brightest working in the deepest, darkest corners of the GATE Cascade Research Facility. Plant Toolbox appears commonly in the world and has two distinct color variants.

When placed on a ledge, Plant Toolbox generates a rope that moves vertically. The rope functions as an interactive traversal aid: when a player touches the rope, the player is carried upward or downward along with it. This makes the item useful for reaching higher platforms or descending safely in areas where static ladders or other climbable geometry are not available.

Practical notes and interactions:

• Placement: Plant Toolbox must be placed on a ledge to produce the moving rope; it does not generate a usable rope if placed on flat ground or unsupported surfaces.
• Traversal role: The rope moves up and down continuously; timing movement with the rope is required to travel to the desired vertical position.
• Storage capacity: Plant Toolbox has exactly twice the storage capacity of a regular Toolbox, allowing it to hold more items when used as inventory storage.
• Variants and appearance: There are two color variants of Plant Toolbox found in the game. Both variants retain the same functionality.
