Kizz Cola
A strange soda, from a strange vending machine.
Overview
Kizz Cola is a strange soda obtainable from an unusual vending machine. The in-game description consistently presents it as an odd carbonated drink purchased from a peculiar dispenser. It appears in Cascade Laboratories and in a few other limited loot sources, and it interacts with several short-term player buffs when consumed.
Kizz Cola can be purchased from a special vending machine located in Cascade Laboratories on level 2, beside the NPCs Janet and Abe. It is also a drop from Containment Robots and can very rarely be found in trash cans. Holding a can of Kizz Cola emits a very low level of radiation, but drinking it does not increase the player’s radiation level.
When consumed, Kizz Cola randomly applies zero, one, or two temporary buffs from a predefined pool. Possible buffs are:
- Rad Resistant
- Sugar High
- Sweet Tooth
- Caffeinated (this buff has no gameplay effects)
- Mega-Ante
- Health Syringe
If no buffs are applied by a consumption roll, one of two negative conditions is applied instead: Stinky or Toilet Emergency. Because consumption can yield no positive effect, Kizz Cola is a gamble item useful for players seeking quick, potentially beneficial boosts but willing to risk minor penalties.
Practical notes for use and acquisition:
- Buy from the Cascade Laboratories level 2 vending machine when available, or farm Containment Robots for drops; trash cans have a very small chance to yield a can.
- Treat Kizz Cola as a risk-reward consumable: it can grant useful temporary advantages but may also impose an undesirable condition.
- The Caffeinated buff appears as a named effect with no mechanical outcome; its primary role is thematic.
- Holding a can causes a small passive radiation emission; this is cosmetic or situational since drinking does not raise radiation.
- Developers described the flavor profile as similar to a sweet candy-flavored energy drink, reinforcing its status as an unusual, synthetic soda.
Kizz Cola functions as a minor, situational item that can shift short encounters when it pays off, and its rarity and randomized outcomes make it more of a novelty or emergency option than a reliable resource.
