GATE Security Crate

The GATE Security Crate is a secure loot container found throughout high-security areas of the facility. It is typically locked and must be opened with a GATE Security Key before its contents can be taken. Once unlocked, it can also be packaged and reused as a storage crate, with storage capacity and radiation shielding equivalent to a Hazard Crate.

These crates are valuable because they consistently contain security-themed supplies. The item pool includes a Night Pass, a Light Gun Repair Kit, a Security Pistol, 9mm Ammo, an Intermediate Gun Repair Kit, a Security Vest, and a Security Helmet. Several of these rewards are guaranteed, and some rolls can grant larger ammo stacks or multiple repair kits.

A GATE Security Key is required to unlock and open the crate. After it has been opened, the crate can be carried and repurposed like other storage crates, making it useful even after the loot has been collected. For players building out a secure base, this gives the crate a second life as an armored storage option rather than leaving it behind.

GATE Security Crates appear in a number of important progression areas:

• Office Sector: in front of the door to the Security Sector next to Alice Hong; in Physics Lab D; and in a small room with a balcony overlooking Silo 3 near Alice Mayfield, which requires Keypad Hacker Tier 2.
• Cascade Laboratories: in the inner wing of the Containment Blocks upper level, in a small hallway overlooking the entryway to Containment Block Dirac.
• Security Sector: in an office with a hologram near the keypad that opens the first main door; in the Fitness Court, which requires Keypad Hacker Tier 4; on the upper floor of the Storage Bay area near the keypad for the third main door; and after the second main security door near the Vehicle Depot in a room next to Celine Ahmed, which also requires Keypad Hacker Tier 4 and access beyond the third security main door.
• Reactors: in the Power Services sewer, which requires Antethermite; on the building with a water tower in Cloud Reactor, beyond the two Defense Robots and Jotun; and in Mist Reactor near a Dr. Manse hologram.
• Manufacturing West: on a catwalk just outside the office where Sarah Frake is first found.
• Hydroplant: in a room with a balcony within the dam wall, below the point where the player first enters the area. This location will likely require a Jump Pad or Jetpack to reach.

Because the crate’s loot table includes both weapons and armor, it is worth opening whenever one is found, especially in areas where security gear helps bridge the gap into more dangerous zones.
