Overview

Pumpkin is a harvestable food item that can be grown from Pumpkin Seed. It also appears as a found item in Canaan, in the plantation area, and in the Dusk Reactor cafeteria. Like other grown produce, it is part of the game’s farming loop rather than a purely scavenged resource.

Pumpkins can be obtained by planting and growing a Pumpkin Seed, and they may also be collected directly from the world in specific locations. At a Repair and Salvage Station, salvaging a Pumpkin does not list any loot, so it is not a notable source of materials.

A useful farming note is that when Pumpkin is planted in some varieties of Garden Plots, it does not need to be replanted after harvest. Instead, harvesting it returns the plant to a 5/5 growth stage, so it only has to regrow one cycle rather than starting over from scratch. This makes it a convenient crop for repeated harvesting once a suitable plot is in place.

Before the 1.1.0 Major Update: Community Update 3, Pumpkins were guaranteed to provide seeds when harvested. That behavior was later changed, with the explanation that these Pumpkins are a unique variety and do not always contain seeds. This means seed returns are no longer guaranteed, so maintaining a steady supply depends more on cultivation and crop management than on every harvest producing a replacement seed.

  • Source locations for Pumpkin include:
    • Canaan plantation area
    • Dusk Reactor cafeteria
  • Pumpkin Seed is the planting source for growing more Pumpkin.
  • In some Garden Plots, harvested Pumpkin regrows from 5/5 instead of being removed entirely.
  • Salvaging a Pumpkin at a Repair and Salvage Station yields no listed items.
