Fireworks are a deployable item used for celebration and visual flair in Astroneer. They can be placed on the ground and ignited there, or launched from a moving vehicle while it is in motion. This makes them useful for entertainment, races, and marking special moments during travel.

A Firework can also serve as a temporary beacon for friends, helping players spot one another from a distance during cooperative play. For actual navigation and long-range guidance, dedicated beacons are still the proper choice, but Fireworks are a lively alternative when the goal is to draw attention rather than provide a persistent marker.

To launch a Firework from a moving vehicle, place it in a vehicle storage slot and then use the activation input: Z on keyboard or X on a controller. This allows the Firework to fire directly from the vehicle while it is moving, creating a visible trail and making it easy to incorporate into stunts, events, or convoy-style play.
