The Clay Caves

Overview
The Clay Caves is an underground biome in Core Keeper. It is one of the game’s early cave regions and serves as a source of biome-specific creatures, terrain resources, and fishing catches. The biome is also used by the game’s scene system, with multiple scenes set within Clay Caves terrain.
The area has its own set of unique creatures, including enemies, critters, and bosses, and it supports biome-specific terrain interactions. One notable hazard is that the wall may gradually break down, allowing several Big Larvae to appear. This makes extended exploration in some parts of the biome more dangerous than the terrain initially suggests.

- Fishing from normal water in the Clay Caves uses the biome’s own catch pool.
- At least 60 fishing is needed to obtain catches from the biome.
- A Tin Fishing Rod can provide the required fishing level.
- The biome has unique enemies, critters, and bosses.
- Some walls can deteriorate over time, triggering the appearance of Big Larvae.
