Settings Guide — Best Graphics & Performance

Settings control how TBH: Task Bar Hero runs on your device and what quality-of-life features are active during play. This page lists the important options, recommended toggles for smooth play, display and audio controls, save/export advice, and platform-specific tips.

  • Auto-retry on stage failure: ON (keeps farming uninterrupted).
  • Keep the game window visible or minimized to the taskbar — do not fully exit while farming.
  • Steam client running and online if you use market features or claimed DLC.

General settings & behavior

  • Auto-retry: When enabled, the game will immediately retry failed stages so long farming chains are uninterrupted. Turn this on for long automated runs.
  • Save / Data management:
    • Game data is stored locally (browser or client). Export your save from Status > Data Management > Export and use “File save” to back up the save string before switching devices or closing the game.
    • If you play the game on multiple devices, exporting and importing saves is essential. Failure to back up will allow one device’s older save to overwrite newer progress when logging between devices.
  • Cloud / Hosting notes: The static wiki and related pages do not operate user accounts; hosting providers (e.g., Cloudflare Pages) may process connection metadata. This does not change in-game save behavior — rely on manual export/import as described above.

Window, display and multi-monitor

  • Docking: On first launch the game window will dock near your taskbar. Keep it docked or minimized for background/auto-farming.
  • Window vanished after moving between monitors:
    • Press Shift + F12 first to reset window position.
    • If that fails, press F11 to reset display scale.
  • Different-DPI monitors: Moving the game between monitors with different DPI can inflate the UI. Reset the display scale before dragging the window between monitors.
  • Background visuals/sound: If you experience no visuals or sound while the game is in the background, verify Steam is logged in and GPU drivers are up to date.

Audio settings

  • BGM selection: From the bottom menu you can choose between “Phase BGM” and “Character BGM.”
  • You can also access Character BGM selection from the Character Enhancement screen.

Platform and installation notes

  • PC distribution: Install from Steam (Windows 10/11 64-bit). Broadband is required for market features. Claim any included DLC (for example, the Priest DLC) from the store page before first play.
  • Allow the game to dock near the taskbar for the intended Task Bar Hero experience.
  • For market/DLC features, keep the Steam client running and logged in while playing.
  • The official wiki is a static site that does not require login cookies for reading. Hosting services may set essential cookies (e.g., Cloudflare security/performance cookies).
  • Blocking all cookies in your browser may impact host security features; cookie management is done through your browser.
  • The site disclaims warranties; server logs are retained according to host policies.

Known issues & developer notes

  • Status attributes: As of late May 2026, LUCK (LUC) and DEX currently have no implemented gameplay use; focus on DEF for survivability, ATK for physical classes, and INT for magic classes until systems are updated.
  • Some equipment labeled for INT/MDEF may not yet change MDEF values — expect future balance and equipment updates tied to skill implementation.

User preferences and feature requests

Players have requested additional options such as unlimited stage skip clears, faster EX animations, development/upgrade animation skip, bulk favorite/protection management, and more flexible AP/dia systems. These are community requests and may be implemented in future updates.

Troubleshooting & support

  • If display scaling or window positioning behaves oddly after monitor changes, use the Shift+F12 and Shift+F11 shortcuts.
  • If background playback stops, confirm Steam login and update GPU drivers; collect a short clip if you need to contact support.
  • For save issues across devices, always export your save string before logging in on another device.
