Badwater Discharge

Overview
Badwater Discharge is a water-building in Timberborn introduced in Update 5 as part of the
Badwater Caps system. It is a specialized structure used to manage excess contaminated water created by other industrial or sewage processes, providing a controlled outlet for badwater away from the colony’s usable water supply.
The building connects into the badwater network and accepts contaminated water that cannot be treated or stored. Placing a
Badwater Discharge prevents badwater from overflowing storage or treatment inputs by giving it a direct disposal point. It is intended to be used where removing accumulated badwater is necessary to keep pumps, tanks, and treatment facilities operating without interruption.
Practical notes and usage:
Badwater Discharge must be connected to the badwater pipe network or placed in a location designated to receive contaminated outflow; it does not treat or purify water.- Use Discharges to relieve pressure on badwater tanks and treatment chains during peak production or when space for expansion is limited.
- Strategic placement near production zones or at low elevations helps ensure gravity and pump networks route badwater reliably to the Discharge.
- The building’s flavor text reads: "Only real civil engineers are allowed nearby." This is an easter egg referencing the YouTuber Real Civil Engineer and his Timberborners series.
