Overview

The Bot Assembler is a production building that assembles robot units from three bot components: Bot Limbs, Bot Heads, and Bot Chassis. It occupies a 3×3 flat surface footprint and is the final stage in the bot construction chain, taking produced components and combining them into functioning bots that join the settlement's workforce or population.

Bot Limb production outpaces the other components: Bot Limbs are produced four times faster than Bot Heads and Bot Chassis. The Bot Assembler itself assembles bots at half the speed of the individual component factories for Heads and Chassis. Because of these relative production rates, the optimal industrial configuration balances component factories and assemblers to avoid bottlenecks: the recommended efficient setup is three Bot Part Factories (one dedicated to each component) paired with two Bot Assemblers. This arrangement matches the supply of parts to assembler throughput and maximizes sustainable bot output; consult the bot lifecycle to determine achievable bot population sizes for a given production network.

The building has undergone naming changes in development history. It was originally introduced as the Golem Factory and has appeared in legacy assets under names such as Golem Factory and Golem Assembler; in later updates it was renamed to Bot Assembler. The assembler functions as the convergence point for bot production and is essential for any playstyle that relies on mechanical workers or expanding bot-based population. Practical considerations when placing Bot Assemblers include providing sufficient flat 3×3 surfaces, routing efficient transport of parts from dedicated part factories, and scaling the number of assemblers to match changes in component output as production technology or addon modules alter component rates.
