Overview

The Hammock is a decorative building placed in beaver settlements to increase the attractiveness of nearby areas and influence beaver behavior. It does not produce resources or perform work tasks; its purpose is to raise local appeal so beavers spend more time in its vicinity and are more likely to remain nearby when idle. The Hammock appears as a simple leisure object and fits into aesthetic or leisure-focused sections of a town layout.

Hammocks are most effective when grouped with other decorative structures. Surrounding a Hammock with additional decorations increases the average dwell time of beavers near those structures, making clustered leisure areas more attractive than isolated pieces. Because Hammocks do not contribute directly to resource production or infrastructure, they are typically unlocked after higher-priority functional buildings; consider researching or building more beneficial production and housing structures first.

Practical notes:

  • Place Hammocks near housing, walkways, or communal spaces to maximize the number of beavers that pass by and can benefit from the increased dwell time.
  • Use multiple Hammocks and other decorations together to create leisure districts that retain beavers in specific parts of the settlement.
  • The Hammock is primarily a mid- to late-game aesthetic and citizen-management tool rather than a core economic building.
