Overview

Hammock is a decorative building in Timberborn that provides a place for beavers to rest and wander near, increasing the time they spend in its vicinity but not directly producing resources or housing. It appears as a simple suspended bed that can be placed on the ground and integrated into parks, leisure areas, or near workstations to subtly influence beaver movement and behavior around a base.

Hammock is unlocked through the decoration/building progression and sits late enough in the construction chain that players are advised to prioritize more beneficial functional structures (like production, water, and food buildings) before investing in Hammocks. Because it does not consume water or food and does not require workers, Hammock is purely a placement choice for improving the aesthetic and flow of your settlement rather than a utility building.

  • Placing Hammocks among other decorative structures increases the average dwell time of beavers in that area, making them more likely to linger instead of immediately returning to work; this can be used to subtly shape traffic patterns or keep beavers near communal buildings during non-working hours.
  • Hammocks refund rubble at the usual building refund rate when demolished; building and demolition economics follow the game’s selected difficulty and mode settings.
  • Use Hammocks to enhance themed districts, parks, or relaxation zones next to water features and walkways; clustering decorations yields the strongest effect on idle behavior.
  • Because Hammock has no maintenance costs or consumables, it is safe to place even during droughts and other handicaps—its benefit is purely behavioral and visual.
