Decorative Clock

Overview
The
Decorative Clock is a purely aesthetic building placed on a
Double Platform to provide visual variety in settlements. It has no functional output such as resources, power, or workflow effects; its purpose is to decorate and personalize beaver towns. The clock appears in the build menu under decorative structures and occupies the footprint of a single decorative object mounted on a platform tile.
The
Decorative Clock is introduced in Update 5 and was given the "Decorative" prefix in a later version to clarify its role. Players commonly place it in public squares, atop central platforms, or near administrative and residential clusters to enhance the settlement’s appearance. A gallery of builds shows the clock both integrated into mixed-use platform constructions and displayed as a standalone ornament on dedicated platform builds.
Practical notes for placement and use:
- The clock must be placed on a
Double Platform tile; it cannot be built directly on terrain or single platform tiles. - It does not consume resources or require maintenance once built, so its only cost is the initial construction materials and space on the platform.
- Use Decorative Clocks to create focal points in plazas, to break up repetitive rooftop scenery, or to mark important buildings without affecting logistics or productivity.
- Because it is non-functional, prioritize utility buildings first and add Decorative Clocks when you have excess building slots and materials.
