Glow Tulip

A Glow Tulip is a shimmering, bioluminescent flower item that illuminates the area around it. It appears in the game as a harvestable plant and as a deployable light source and is also used as an ingredient in several Cooking recipes. Glow Tulip can be salvaged at a Repair and Salvage Station.

Glow Tulips provide several practical advantages as lighting compared with other singular light sources. Harvesting a Glow Tulip always yields enough seeds to replant one, even with low Farming skill. A single Glow Tulip produces more light than many other single-item lamps, and individual Glow Tulips do not collide with one another; multiple Glow Tulips can be stacked in the same tile to create an even brighter, more concentrated light. Because their light stacks and remains relatively saturated, the flower’s color stays more distinct in lit environments than some colored light sources such as a painted Wall Torch.

Glow Tulips function well both as planted decorations and as tactical lighting in bases or pathways. Unlike Desk Lamps and Standing Lamps, enemies will not target and destroy placed Glow Tulips, making them a durable option for long-term illumination. In addition to base lighting, they are a material component in various Cooking recipes, so retaining harvested Glow Tulips or their seeds supports both culinary crafting and replanting.
