Overview

Manomin Magnum is a heavy magnum-class sidearm characterized by a rugged, modified appearance; in the game files it is described as a hefty magnum that has been defaced—or enhanced. It functions as a relatively powerful handheld firearm and can be obtained as loot, with a chance to drop from Chieftain enemies. Visual assets show firing and reloading animations, including a series of reload animations from Level 0 through 9 and a separate Level 20 reload animation.

Usage requires the player character to have the Bio-Fusion Armwraps buff active. The weapon is tied into the crafting/recipe progression: the recipe for the Imitator is unlocked when the player reaches Accuracy level 18. These requirements make the Manomin Magnum more relevant to builds that invest in Accuracy and in the Bio-Fusion Armwraps synergy.

Notable mechanical and historical points:

  • The weapon’s design appears inspired by the Desert Eagle handgun, reflected in its bulky profile and large-caliber feel.
  • The name Manomin is a variant spelling of manoomin, the Ojibwe word for wild rice; this etymology is used in-game as a flavor element.
  • In an earlier state of the game the Manomin Magnum used the “parent” damage type. That implementation allowed the weapon to gib corpses (often in the same shot that killed them) and to bypass bullet resistance on enemies, making it substantially stronger against bullet-resistant foes than other firearms. That behavior has since been changed.
  • Acquisition: can drop from Chieftains; check high-level encounter areas where Chieftain-class enemies spawn.

Practical tips for players:

  • Equip or activate Bio-Fusion Armwraps prior to attempting to use the Manomin Magnum, otherwise the weapon cannot be wielded.
  • If you pursue the Imitator recipe, prioritize raising Accuracy to at least 18 to unlock it.
  • Because the weapon’s earlier “parent” damage behavior was altered, do not assume it will bypass bullet resistance unless the current patch notes or in-game tooltips explicitly state that effect.
  • Use the weapon in playstyles that emphasize precision and single-shot damage; its aesthetic and animations emphasize slow, powerful shots rather than rapid fire.
