Megaton Flask

Megaton Flask is a throwable flask item obtained only through mixing distillations. It functions like a regular thrown weapon: the primary attack throws the flask, and the secondary action switches between throw modes. On impact, it creates an upward draft similar to the bounce effect of a Gaseous Nest or Jump Pad, making it useful both as a mobility tool and as a way to control vertical movement.

Because of that draft, Megaton Flask can be used to soften or even negate fall damage if it is thrown before landing from a large drop and timed correctly. It is not just a combat or utility throw, but also a convenient emergency recovery tool when traversing high places or Portal World terrain.

The flask is assembled through mixing, and its ingredients are fully renewable overall, since they can be gathered through farming, fishing, or from resources found in Portal Worlds. Mixing also produces a small explosion that knocks the player back, and being hit by this explosion for the first time unlocks a set of cosmetics. In practice, this means crafting it can have an immediate physical effect, so it is best done in a safe location with enough space around the mixing point.
