Talagi Magnum

Talagi Magnum is a high-damage sidearm that can be obtained as a random drop from a Captain. It is one of the earliest weapons with extremely high damage per shot, making it a strong choice for stealth-focused builds and hit-and-run tactics. Although it is outclassed in raw damage per shot by the Wessex Rifle and Magbow, those weapons require much more progression to unlock and craft, so the Talagi Magnum fills an important mid-game power spike.

To use the Talagi Magnum, the player character must have one of the Armwraps buffs: Bio-Metric Armwraps, Bio-Mimic Armwraps, or Bio-Fusion Armwraps. The Armwraps recipe is unlocked at Accuracy level 7, and the same Accuracy requirement is still needed to fire the weapon. Even if another player in multiplayer crafts the Armwraps early and shares them, the weapon cannot be fired without Accuracy 7; attempting to do so displays a message saying the character is not confident enough to use the item.

Because it is a random drop, obtaining one may take some persistence. Once acquired, however, it can be used far earlier than comparable high-damage weapons. The Wessex Rifle requires the second-tier Bio-Mimic Armwraps and materials from the Hydroplant and Voussoir, while the Magbow requires materials from the Security Sector. That makes the Talagi Magnum especially valuable for players who want a powerful weapon before reaching those later areas.

• Pairs well with stealth assassination setups and ambush play.
• Its damage per shot makes it effective for deleting isolated targets quickly.
• In multiplayer, a crafted Armwraps buff can be shared early, but Accuracy 7 is still mandatory to actually use the weapon.

Prior to version 0.8.2, the Talagi Magnum was known as the Military Magnum. Its design appears to have been inspired by the Colt Python.
