Talagi Magnum

The Talagi Magnum is a high-powered handcannon-class firearm intended to deliver very large damage per shot. It is effective at neutralizing large foes and can completely destroy smaller enemies when a hit connects. Its high single-shot damage makes it a strong choice for stealth assassination builds and hit-and-run tactics where burst damage and one-shot potential matter more than sustained fire rate.

Use of the Talagi Magnum is gated by equipment and character proficiency. The player character must be wearing one of the Bio-Metric Armwraps, Bio-Mimic Armwraps, or Bio-Fusion Armwraps to attempt to fire the weapon, and the Accuracy skill must be at level 7 for the wielder to actually use it. The Armwraps recipe becomes available once Accuracy reaches 7, so the Magnum is typically accessible only after that milestone unless another multiplayer teammate crafts the armwraps for you. The weapon itself is a random drop with a chance to drop from Captains, so obtaining one can require repeated encounters.

• Strengths: very high damage per shot; excels at quickly eliminating small enemies and severely damaging large targets; excellent for stealth takedowns and hit-and-run engagements.
• Weaknesses and comparisons: despite its high per-shot damage, the Talagi Magnum is outclassed in raw damage per shot by the Wessex Rifle and the Magbow, which require later-game materials or different craft prerequisites. However, the Magnum can be acquired and used earlier in a single-player progression if the Accuracy and armwrap requirements are met.
• Acquisition: drops from Captains as a random loot drop. Persistence may be necessary to find one.
• Multiplayer note: another player can craft Bio-Metric Armwraps earlier if they reach Accuracy level 7 and share them, allowing you to equip the wraps before you personally hit Accuracy 7. Even with the wraps equipped, attempting to fire the Magnum without having Accuracy 7 produces the message "You aren't confident enough to use this item" and the weapon will not fire.
• History/Trivia: the Talagi Magnum was previously named the Military Magnum prior to patch 0.8.2. Its design appears to have been inspired by the Colt Python revolver.

When using the Talagi Magnum, prioritize positioning and timing to maximize the value of each shot: aim for stealth openings or use a single powerful shot to disrupt or finish high-value targets, then withdraw or switch to a secondary weapon while the Magnum reloads.
