- Caveling Spearmen can drop a
Hunting Spear on death. This is a very useful weapon against many enemies in the Clay Caves, including Spearmen themselves.
- Removing Clay Moss where possible reduces Caveling Spearman spawns, which can make the Clay Caves easier and safer to traverse.
- Since they attack both players and nearby cave creatures, they can become an active obstacle during fights between other enemies as well.
- Their mobility is close to an unbuffed player’s speed, so do not rely on simply walking away unless you have a movement boost or enough space to disengage.
Because they spawn on Clay Moss in any biome, players who are building, exploring, or reshaping terrain should keep an eye on where that block is placed. Clearing it out is one of the most direct ways to limit their numbers. When fighting them, maintaining range is usually the safest approach, while close combat is riskier unless you can reliably outdamage them before they connect with repeated spear strikes.
