Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch Pro
The game uses standard controller layouts for these systems, with actions grouped across the available face buttons, shoulder buttons, and stick inputs. The common control groups include picking up placed items, releasing, and dropping items.
Placeable items and object handling
When working with placed objects and buildable items, the controls center on a small set of universal actions:
- Pick-Up Placed Item
- Release
- Drop
These actions are used when moving, placing, or clearing placeable items, including traps and other deployable objects.
Menu options and pause
The Pause function is available through Journal → Options → Pause. It is a single-player-only function and cannot be used in multiplayer.
Custom key bindings on Steam
On Steam, keyboard and mouse bindings can be freely reassigned from the control settings screen. If you prefer a different layout, it is best to set it up before starting the game.
