Homestone

Overview
Homestone is an object used to teleport to Waystones within a settlement network. It is tied to a specific settlement, usually the one associated with the NPC it was obtained from, either the 


A Homestone must be placed in the settlement it belongs to, and it can be mined, picked up, and moved around within that same settlement. It also has to be placed on the surface. Like other placeable settlement objects, it has a limited number of 
Waystones are the paired travel anchors for a Homestone network. They can be placed anywhere items can normally be placed on the surface or in caves, but if a Waystone is mined it is destroyed. When a Waystone is activated, the player is teleported back to the Homestone associated with that settlement. This makes the system useful for building a fast-travel route from a central base out to multiple points of interest.
A practical setup is to keep the Homestone in the main settlement and place Waystones near important travel targets such as Cave Ladders, Deep Cave Ladders, the Dungeon entrance, the 

If you have multiple settlements, it is important not to mix their Homestones and Waystones. Using one settlement’s network consistently is often simplest, although multiple Homestone and Waystone networks can be built if you want to connect larger areas. In that case, signs are useful for identifying which Waystones belong to which settlement.
