Torch

Overview
The
Torches are obtained and used early in gameplay and are consumed or placed like other simple light items. They can be carried to provide mobile illumination while exploring or set on walls and floors to create lit paths and prevent monsters from spawning in built areas where light level affects enemy encounters. Torches are stackable and inexpensive to make, enabling players to place many for long-term lighting.
- Torches are effective for marking routes toward significant locations such as the
Dungeon Entrance and other landmarks; use a string of torches to guide return trips.
- Place torches at regular intervals in caves and mines to keep areas visibly clear and to reduce enemy spawns in player-built spaces.
- When exploring at night or underground, hold a torch to maintain visibility without needing to deploy additional structures.
- Torches can be replaced or replenished easily; keep a supply in chests near entry points to expediate expeditions.
